General
Notes
A. As a new member or alternate, you
are encouraged to entertain the club with a “craft
talk”. This is a formal introduction of the member
or alternate and brief overview of your company and/or
any current issues related to your industry.
B.
The business club presents a variety of annual
social events throughout the year that are announced
at the meetings and circulated through the Club bulletin
that will be announced at the meetings. (i.e. Christmas
party, curling and golf tournaments and other social
activities.)
C.
If you are aware of anyone who may be interested in
being a guest speaker, notify the Director in charge
of Speakers or the President and arrangements can be
made.
D.
If you know of anyone in business not represented
in the Club roster, or who would be in conflict with
any present members, notify the Membership Director
and they can be approached for membership.
When you apply
for a membership in The St. Catharines Business Club,
two current members will sponsor you. You must have
been in business or with your firm for a minimum of
two years; six months for alternate members in the category
applied for. If approved by the membership committee,
you will be asked to attend two meetings and your name
and category will be published in the club bulletin
for two consecutive weeks, which is circulated to all
members. Your sponsors will give an outline of your
business background and you will be asked to give a
brief synopsis of your business at the first meeting
you attend. At the third meeting, which you do not attend,
the members will vote on your candidacy. If approved
by a majority vote you will be admitted to membership
in The St. Catharines Business Club.
